The president of Aragon, the socialist Javier Lambán, will leave the presidency of the regional government. But his work remains. The data on wind and solar concessions in Aragon reflect the absolute primacy of one company: Forestalia, the company of a person who, before dedicating himself to windmills, focused his business on pork. But the striking distribution does not only affect the concessions in the pipeline promoted by Lambán. It also affects those awarded by the Government of Pedro Sánchez directly and within the national renewable programs. In fact, 94% of the new wind and solar farms in Aragon from the national concessions have gone to Forestalia, a company that has become the epicenter of some 850 companies through which two families have passed: the Samper, responsible for Forestalia, and the Sumelzo, the family of one of Pedro Sanchez's most trusted deputies.
In Aragon there are 675 new photovoltaic and wind farms in the pipeline. Of these, 416 depend on the regional government of the defeated in the elections Javier Lambán. The distribution is as follows: 264 photovoltaic and 152 wind farms. There, the predominance corresponds to Forestalia, as Libertad Digital has already reported.
But, in addition, the Ministry of Ecological Transition is processing another 259 wind projects in the Community. And, attention, because 94% of them (243) are promoted by the same business group: Forestalia.
On the other hand, the Sumelzo family owns fifteen companies, eight of which have been acquired from Forestalia and there is no record of any administrative file being processed in them. Another 7 companies are created by the Sumelzo family: four of them are developing wind farms and the other 3 do not have any administrative records for the moment. On the other hand, there is solar development.
It should be remembered, in fact, that in 2019 the Sumelzos left the administration of a whole batch of companies dedicated to wind energy and left those projects in the hands of Fernando Samper, head of Forestalia.
For its part, of the 416 files that are processed in Aragon under the impulse of Lambán, many have also gone to the Forestalia group, but it is difficult to know exactly the figure because each park has a different SL and many times the Sumelzo's companies have promoted them and have been passed later to Samper.
The Sumelzos and Samper
It should be remembered that the Sumelzo family, the family of one of Pedro Sánchez's most trusted deputies -Susana Sumelzo- appears in the history of more than 20 green companies. The Samper family, headed by Fernando Samper -the maximum responsible of Forestalia- beat any record and reach a total network of almost 850 wind or solar companies. In fact, it is difficult to give a stable figure because a company is created for each wind or solar project with the apparent aim of being sold to a large electricity company once all the public procedures have been completed.
The huge corporate ball reflects a big business that passes through a few hands but ends up being sold to companies that are really dedicated to energy exploitation, not to the passing of companies from one hand to another.
The more than dense network has two main characteristics. The first is quantitative: the total number of companies is around 850 and it is difficult to say the exact number because companies are created and sold with an unusual frequency. The second is qualitative: each company usually corresponds to a specific wind or solar project. And the fact is that many of the previous companies have been sold to large electricity companies, giving the impression that they were created for this purpose: to be sold to companies that are not dedicated to energy speculation, but to energy exploitation.
