June 6 (Renewables Now) - EnerVenue, a Fremont, California-based company specialising in metal-hydrogen batteries, on Tuesday said it has secured a 25-MWh order from a leading energy company in the Southeastern US.
The company will supply its Energy Storage Vessels (ESVs) for an energy storage project in Florida, which will mainly be used to provide load leveling and frequency regulation. EnerVenue will complete the delivery of the ESVs by the final quarter of 2024.
The order has been arranged by consulting firm High Caliber Energy, which aided the customer in selecting EnerVenue’s technology for its Florida storage project and its expanding integrations of solar and storage. Matt Davis, managing partner at High Caliber Energy, explained that the EnerVenue batteries were picked for their operational efficiency, reliability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
EnerVenue says its ESVs have an expected lifetime of 30 years and can deliver 86% capacity after 30,000 cycles. The company recently said it will open a gigafactory in Kentucky.
