Arctech secures 500-MW solar tracker deal in Uzbekistan

    September 15, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

September 15 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar tracker manufacturer Arctech Solar Holding Co Ltd (SHA:688408) has been awarded a 500-MW solar tracking contract in Uzbekistan, its second in the country since the start of the month.

The deal was sealed with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). The delivery will be made in Sherabad of Surkhandarya Province, according to a statement published Thursday.

The contract is for Arctech’s SkyLine II solar tracking system. The stiff device mounts a synchronous multi-point drive mechanism and has a wind stow threshold of 22 metres per second.

The ground-mounted Sherabad solar PV power project will span more than 600 hectares. Already under construction, the site is set to go live by the end of the year. Once operational, it is expected to produce 1.04 GWh of electricity, an amount enough to power 300,000 homes.

Earlier this month, Arctech secured a 240-MW order in the country from China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC).
