UPDATE: Nationwide blackout averted as power grid is restored

    September 15, 2023 - Nigerian Tribune

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Electric) has announced that power supply has been restored from the recently collapsed power grid.

This announcement was made in a tweet by Eko Electricity Distribution Company on X at at about 12:50 pm today, 14 September 2023, noting that the grid's power supply has been restored.

The tweet reads: 'Kindly be informed that the power supply has been restored from the grid. Thank you for your patience.'

Earlier today, Nigerian Tribune Online reported that barely 15 days after the Transmission Company of Nigeria ( TCN) celebrated 400 days of grid stability, the country was again thrown into darkness following a total system collapse on Thursday.

The collapse was said to have occurred at 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, 14 September 2023, leading to a loss of supply in major parts of the country.

The grid collapse resulted in a massive loss of supply to power distributors nationwide.

But hours after this, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Electric) said the power supply had been restored from the grid.
