Finland: Suomen Hyötytuuli starts FEED for offshore wind turbine foundations

    September 19, 2023 - M-Brain Nordic News

Finnish renewable energy production company Suomen Hyötytuuli is developing an extension to the Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm on the west coast of Finland. The wind turbines of at least 15 MW will be built in deeper waters than ever before in Finland. Suomen Hyötytuuli has launched Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for its own all-steel foundation concept, which is the base case for the project. The two other potential concepts to be studied are Enersense Offshore's hybrid foundation made of concrete and steel and Aker Solutions' concrete foundation concept. The FEED is due to be completed in November 2023 and the concept selection will be done in December 2023. The water and construction permits for the turbines to be built in the first phase are expected to be finalised in autumn 2023.
