Lagos --There is indication that the governments of the Netherlands and Nigeria are talks to take advantage of the newly created Ministry of Marine and Blues to boost energy by deployment of wind in Nigeria.

Deleen also said although there has been official talks between both countries to this regard but that is being focused on solar.

He stated that his government is looking forward to collaborating with Nigeria on how to tap the wind to boost energy supply in Nigeria.

"Yes, there has been talks but for now, it is focused on solar and we are talking about Blue economy. It will not be easy because the Netherlands is on the sea not on the ocean but Nigeria is on the ocean where the waves are much higher," he said.

How come we have not had discussion on winds yet, off-course it is not easy. So for you to put winds mills on the ocean is a very challenging but you can put them on the coastal land and if there is enough wind, definitely you will generate

"Although, there has not been talks in that regards. I think we will working on that also together with the new Minister of Marine and Blue economy .As I said so far we have been looking a lot into solar and renewables but I think wind energy will be a good option.
