September 21 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian renewables company Atiaia Renovaveis has signed an agreement to acquire two operational photovoltaic (PV) parks with a combined capacity of 44.8 MW from local peer Ibitu Energia.
Located in the northeastern state of Bahia, the Verde Vale III and Assurua solar plants have long-term supply contracts valid until 2037, the buyer announced on Tuesday.
With this new purchase, Atiaia Renovaveis now has a renewables portfolio of 421 MW, of which 266 MW is in operation. Solar energy accounts for 100 MW of the portfolio, the firm noted.
The deal between Atiaia and Ibitu Energia is subject to certain predecent conditions, such as the approval of the local antitrust regulator CADE.
