September 22 -- Suzlon Group has secured a fresh order for the development of 29.4 MW of wind power capacity for BrightNight. BrightNight, a global renewable power producer, is implementing a 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project situated in Osmanabad, Maharashtra.
Under this contract, Suzlon will deploy 14 units of S120-140m wind turbine generators (WTGs) featuring a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. Suzlon's responsibilities encompass the supply, installation, and commissioning of these units, along with post-commissioning operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
The project is expected to be commissioned in phases, starting April 2024. Electricity generated from the project will be supplied to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers in the state. The plant is specially designed to meet energy savings requirements, the wind-solar configuration is optimised, enabling consumers to achieve up to 80 percent of greening of their overall consumption.A project of this size can provide electricity to approx. 50 thousand households and curb around 2.5 lakh tonne of CO2 emissions per year.BrightNight's India operations is geared towards developing multi-tech, hybrid, dispatchable renewable projects. It recently announced a USD 250 million partnership with ACEN, an Ayala Group company, for expanding its portfolio of projects in India.
