Sweden: Wind energy investments at record level in 2023

In 2023, wind energy investments continue to be at a record level in Sweden. In total, 2,100 MW of new wind power is expected to be taken into operation in the country. According to a forecast by trade association Svensk Vindenergi, the annual wind power production will exceed 52 TWh in 2025. SR Energy is one of the players who have invested most in wind power in Sweden in recent years. The company opened Sweden's largest wind farm to date with an annual production of 600 GWh in May 2023. With strong shareholders such as the Stena sphere and pension companies Alecta, AMF and KLP as co-owners, SR Energy has both the capital and the resources required to continue running large-scale wind power projects.
