September 22 (Renewables Now) - Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) announced it has sealed contracts for the supply of 4 GWp of solar modules, along with hundreds of new orders for residential storage systems and PV plus storage system packages, during a recent energy trade show in Las Vegas.
The solar module orders will be serviced by both Canadian Solar’s upcoming Texas factory and its expanded Thailand module factory, the company said in a press release.
The new factory in Texas will be Canadian Solar’s first in the country. It is slated for commissioning later in 2023 with an annual production capacity of 5 GW which will allow it to manufacture some 20,000 PV modules per day.
Canadian Solar has so far delivered more than 102 GW of solar photovoltaic modules to customers. It has developed, built and connected over 9 GWp of solar power projects and over 3 GWh of battery storage projects across the world.
