September 22 (Renewables Now) - Germany has launched this year's last round of the onshore wind auction, targeting the allocation of 3.19 GW of capacity.
The Federal Network Agency will be accepting proposals for wind projects until November 2, it said on Friday.
The value of bids competing in the round must not exceed EUR 0.0735 (USD 0.078) per kWh and the approval of the projects must have been registered by October 4, 2023.
Germany has already carried out three rounds of the onshore wind tender in 2023, awarding around 4.4 GW. This is far below the targeted capacity but exceeds the 3.2 GW allocated in the entire 2022.
Despite the notable resurgence of interest observed this year, even if all 3.19 GW in the current call is awarded, Germany will still fall short of its initial 2023 allocation target of 12.84 GW.
