September 27 (Renewables Now) - Danish renewables company Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) has won contracts for a 81-MW solar farm and a 43.2-MW wind farm in the Irish government’s third onshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS 3) auction.

Ørsted’s two projects are Garreenleen solar farm in Carlow Farranrory onshore wind farm in Tipperary. They are expected to be delivered before 2030 within the RESS 3 timelines.

“With a combined output of 124 MW, these projects will assist in driving down the cost of electricity compared to fossil fuel generation and contribute to Ireland’s overall energy independence while meeting our value creation targets,” commented Kieran?White, senior vice president of Onshore in Region Europe at Ørsted.
