Sweden: SCA calls for quicker wind farm permits

    September 29, 2023 - M-Brain Nordic News

Swedish forestry company SCA has called for the Swedish government to make it easier to get wind farm permits in Sweden. As SCA plans to establish Sweden's largest refinery for biofuels in Timrå, it wants to set up more wind farms to meet the plant's energy demand. The prerequisites for getting a permit are so far difficult, states SCA. The company has not yet made the final investment decision. The fact that the Government reduced the reduction obligation of biofuels in cars does not threaten the plan but is still irritating, according to SCA. Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch says that she is not surprised that SCA wants to develop wind farms, as it earns money from this.
