Swedish state-owned energy company Vattenfall has published its solar index for 2023. It shows how much solar energy could be produced annually if all small houses in Sweden had rooftop solar panels. In 2022, the solar capacity was 11.3 billion kWh. By 2030, Sweden's ten largest cities could have a total of 975,838 solar cell facilities with an installed effect of 21,414 MW. The installed effect is estimated to be the largest in Gothenburg (8,630 MW) in 2030, followed by Jönköping, Örebro, Malmö and Linköping. Meanwhile, the number of solar cell facilities is estimated to be the largest in Malmö (188,651), followed by Gothenburg, Örebro, Jönköping and Norrköping.
