September 29 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian utility company Neoenergia SA (BVMF:NEOE3) has signed an agreement with local energy firm Comerc Energia to establish a holding focused on the development and operation of distributed generation (DG) solar projects.
Under the agreement, formalised on Wednesday, the new entity will target photovoltaic (PV) systems in the states of Bahia, Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, and the country’s Federal District.
Neoenergia pointed out that investments will be made as the projects progress.
The closing of this transaction is subject to the usual conditions, such as receiving the green light of local antitrust regulator CADE.
