High-voltage line put into operation in east, 403 settlements remain without electricity – Ukrenergo

September 29, 2023 - Interfax Ukraine Business Daily

KYIV. Sept 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of September 29, after repairs, a high-voltage overhead line in the east of the country was put into operation, which significantly increased the reliability of power supply for the entire region.

"Part of the line runs through de-occupied territory, which the enemy densely mined during their retreat. Despite the danger, our repair teams met the deadline - before the start of the heating season," NPC Ukrenergo reported on Friday.

According to the company, in Ukraine as a whole, due to hostilities and other reasons, 403 settlements remain without electricity.

"Due to the fighting, there are new damages in the grids of regional power companies in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. Power restoration is taking place in a security situation and with the permission of the military," the company noted.

On September 28, to maintain a balance between electricity consumption and production, the operation of wind and solar power plants was limited during the daytime hours from 11:30 to 15:30, with a maximum capacity of 703 MW.

According to Ukrenergo, on Friday, September 29, there is an import of electricity from Slovakia with a total volume of 239 MWh, with a maximum power of up to 100 MW in certain hours.

Export is carried out to Slovakia and Moldova. The total volume is 5,021 MWh, with a maximum power in individual hours of up to 386 MW.
