Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) have recovered Rs 1.5 billion from 73992 defaulters during ongoing drive across the region.
According to a spokesperson for MEPCO, Taskforce teams have raided Arifwala and removed transformers of nine members of Kisan Ittehad over Rs 29.2 million pending dues on them.
The MEPCO teams along with police removed the transformers over nonpayment of pending dues.
Meanwhile, the teams have imposed a Rs 388.8 million fine on 5558 power pilferers during the ongoing drive against power pilferers so far. While Rs 135.7 million were recovered from the power pilferers.
Likewise, cases were registered against 3555 power pilferers and 4046 outlaws apprehended over stealing electricity, the spokesman concluded.
