Yamal LNG boosts hydrocarbon exports 2.4% to 19.5 mln tonnes of LNG, 775,000 tonnes of condensate in 2022

Interfax Russia & CIS Business and Financial Newswire

YEKATERINBURG. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Employees of the Novy Urengoy customs post of Tyumen Customs cleared over 19.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas and more than 775,000 tonnes of gas condensate for export in 2022, the customs service said in a statement.

"The export of 35,000 tonnes of coking coal was also a distinctive feature of the past year," the statement said.

The goods left the Sabetta maritime crossing point in 268 gas tankers and 19 gas carriers. A total of 582 seafaring vessels passed through customs, 292 of which were cleared for arrival.

The press service for the Ural Customs Administration told Interfax that the volumes of energy resources transported increased by 517,000 tonnes compared to 2021. The number of vessels departing fell by two units and those arriving by 11.

Hydrocarbon exports from Sabetta thus rose approximately 2.4% in 2022 compared to 2021.

Tyumen Customs said in its statement that a free warehouse has been active in the area of the Novy Urengoy customs post for over a year located at the Utrenny terminal of Sabetta port. Goods have been stowed under the free warehouse procedure based on 57 declarations, 43 in 2021 and 14 in 2022, for products imported for the implementation of the project to build Arctic LNG 2 during that time at an overall amount of 10,500 tonnes.

Only Yamal LNG exports liquefied natural gas and condensate from Sabetta.

Sabetta is Russia's northernmost crossing point and is intended primarily for transshipment of hydrocarbons from the South-Tambeyskoye gas condensate field.
