PG&EOvernight outage planned for Manton areas

Red Bluff Daily News

RED BLUFF >> An overnight planned power outage will impact nearly 4,000 Pacific Gas and Electric customers in the Manton and Shingletown areas of Tehama and Shasta counties starting late Friday night.

The seven-hour planned power outage is necessary so PG&E crews can safely perform maintenance and upgrades at the Volta substation near Manton, according to a press release issued Mondy by PG&E. The planned outage will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and last until about 5 a.m. Saturday.

PG&E has notified customers impacted by the planned outage by letter and automated phone calls.

Regional senior manager of PG&E’s North Valley Division Jim Monninger said the company has arranged to keep this planned power outage as short as possible and to occur at a time that we hope will cause minimal inconvenience to customers while crews perform essential work to ensure safety and reliability.

PG&E has notified officials in Tehama and Shasta counties and emergency agencies to ensure they are prepared.
