The contract with PGE Energia Odnawialna covers the modernization of the technological part and the replacement of four pump turbines and generators with a capacity of 125 MW. Mostostal Warszawa's contribution to this task is extremely important, because the modernization of this key facility for the National Electricity System will accelerate Poland's energy transition and extend the life of the hydropower plant by several decades. Modernization of the technological part of the power plant includes modernization of power supply systems, control-measurement and automation apparatus systems, concrete structures of motor-generator enclosures, evacuation gallery, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The contract covers the production and delivery to the site of new equipment, as well as excitation and control systems. The process of assembling and commissioning the four new units will be supervised by a team of specialists. As part of the task, strut rings and blades will be replaced with new ones designed specifically for the Porabka Zar pumped storage power plant. - The role of Mostostal Warszawa in the process of accelerating the energy transformation in our country is crucial, because the facility itself, for the modernization of which our company, among others, is responsible, plays a significant role in the Polish energy sector. - says Jorge Calabuig Ferre, Vice President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa. - Such a large and technically advanced task is possible thanks to the experience and potential of the two companies that are carrying out this contract for PGE Energia Odnawialna. Owned by PGE Energia Odnawialna, ESP Porabka-Zar is the second largest pumped storage power plant in Poland with a capacity of 500 MW.
